About
Someone asked if Saya Hillman had a blog and if the inane reflections she shared at a public event were available on-line. So that she could answer “Yes” and “Yes,” she started the Mac ‘n Cheese Lifestyle Strangers in Slippers.
Saya is from Evanston, IL, graduated from Boston College, and currently resides in Chicago. In 2004, she got let go from a job and launched Mac ‘n Cheese Productions. She now drinks the self-employed/entrepreneur Kool-Aid regularly, and loves sipping it with others.
Mac ‘n Cheese Minglers have brought more than 900 people through her front door. Smatterings, a twice-monthly e-newsletter with posts that range from grant opportunities to job openings to service referrals to activity ideas, receives constant raves from subscribers. Dance Experiment convened seventeen strangers who couldn’t dance and who were scared to perform in public, and after three months of rehearsals, they shook it in front of an audience of 350; Dance Experiment then morphed into Fear Experiment, performed in front of 750. And there’s the underground supper clubs, comedy nights, coat drives, film screenings, Potluck! (A Smorgasbord of Ideas), entrepreneur gatherings…
Saya’s 2012 New Year’s Resolution is to take Mac ‘n Cheese “to the next level.” Whatever that means.
Her 2011 New Year’s Resolution is to create more crazy adventures like Dance Experiment that turn out to be life-changing for many, more than anyone had anticipated, and bonus!, a way to pay bills.
Her 2008 New Year’s Resolution is to be more British.
Her 2009 New Year’s Resolution is to be a in a GAP commercial.
Her 2010 New Year’s Resolution is to bring the Minglers to London.

Ha, thanks Philip. Was nice to taste the lifestyle that includes make-up artists, hair stylists, and people telling you how pretty you are; wish every day was like that! Definitely hope to connect at a future event, good luck with Firmology.
Let’s be sure to shake hands the next time we’re in the same place. All the best, John
That would be lovely JR! Thanks for the inspiring words at and for your part in SDC, wonderful experience.
I agree with John. Hope to meet you at a future event Saya. BTW, very cool that you were featured in Chicago magazine!
